This story seemed interesting to me because the author related learning to many things, one of them was bridges. "My desire insists on stronger, more permanent bridges." This means that the author wants the learning to be better then what it is right now. This story seemed to start off with learning is hard, and then it slowly moved into learning is individual, then student’s motivation. I think the story is just trying to say that hard work pays off. So, the harder you work the more successful you will be in life. "You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." I think this means that there are no shortcuts in learning.
